Nambudripud's Allergy Elimination Techniques

Devised by Dr. Devi S. Nambudripud M.D., D.C., L.AC., R.N, PHD. in 1983 after experiencing a reaction to eating a carrot. She attempted to overcome the reaction through self-administered acupuncture treatment. After the treatment the reaction to eating the carrot did not return. At the time she administered the acupuncture, remnants of the carrot were on her skin, Nambudripud in turn concluded, with further experimentation, that the presence of the carrot left on her skin during the acupuncture treatment was the key to the treatment. She concluded that contact with a small amount of an allergen during an acupuncture or acupressure session can help remove reactions to food and other allergies. Everything is energy in some form, Nambudripud found that the central nervous system have the ability to detect the "electromagnetic signatures" of all molecules, with the central nervous system either attracting, ignoring or rejecting a particular substance. Rejection is seen as an energy disturbance or blockage in the flow of Qi along meridians. NAET is meant to help "wake up" the body to see the perceived disturbance as a friend instead of a foe to begin the healing process.

How Does NAET Work?

Allergic reactions are the result of an incorrect response by the brain and central nervous system. Allergic reactions are exaggerated  responses which occur when a person's body (energy field) is in contact with the electromagnetic field of another substance. A substance can be toxic or nontoxic depending on how the brain perceives it. If the brain sees it as toxic, it will send the wrong signal to the nervous system and cause blockages in the energy channels (acupuncture meridians). If it perceives it as nontoxic it will id the energy flow in the body's channels, helping to clear any blockages present.

NAET Treats:

  • Autism

  • ADD-ADHD

  • Allergies

  • Emotional Problems (anxiety/depression)

  • Pain Management

  • Digestive complaints

  • Skin Rashes (psoriasis/eczema)

  • Migraines

  • Vertigo

Before Treatment

  • ALWAYS eat before you come for treatment. You should not take NAET treatment or acupuncture when you are hungry.
  • Wash or vigorously rub your hands for 30 secs before beginning Neuromuscular Sensitivity Testing procedure (NST). Hand washing removes any residue left on your hands from other substances.
  • Do NOT treat NAET if you're extremely tired, worked a night shift or worked too many hours with a break.

What to Expect During Treatment

NAET is a combination of knowledge and techniques known from allopathic, chiropractic, kinesiology, acupuncture and nutrition. Lily uses a form of Kinesiology called Neuromuscular Sensitivity Testing (NST of NST-NAET) to diagnose allergies by comparing the strength of a muscle in the presence or absence of a suspected allergen.  The aim is to remove the energy blockages by having the patient hold a glass jar containing the allergen while acupressure or acupuncture techniques are employed. After treatment, patients rest for 20 minutes while still holding the jar containing the allergen. Once the 20 minutes are up you will again be tested for an allergic reaction using the muscle strength test. If the muscle is strong after the first treatment you will be advised to avoid the allergic substance for the following 25 hours. Patients should return for retesting with NAET between 25 hours and 7 days after the treatment.

After Treatment

  • Must wash hands with plain water or vigorously rub hands by interlacing your fingers for 30 secs after treatment before you leave the office.
  • Do NOT exercise vigorously for 6 hours after treatment
  • Avoid exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures
  • Do NOT bathe or shower for 6 hours after treatment
  • Do NOT cross your legs during the first 20 mins following NAET treatment
  • You will be asked to avoid treated allergen for 25 hours after the completion of the treatment in the office. After treatment you should avoid eating, touching, breathing and coming within 5 feet of substance treated following the 25 hour after treatment
