Asthma Recue

Asthma is something annoying and affects millions of people.  Today I will show you how to help if you or a your loved one is suffering from asthma.

1: Massage CV 22.  It’s located at the the base of the throat in the large hollow directly below the Adam’s apple.  Use the tip of your finger to press downward and hold for 30 seconds to a minute; repeat 5 more times. CV 22 can help upper chest discomfort such as Qi stagnation issues, release asthma, wheezing, upper chest pain, tightness and oppression. .

2:  Massage CV17 is located in front of the body, midway between the nipples. Use one or two fingers; press firmly for 30 seconds to a minute; release and repeat 5 times.

CV 17 strengthens Qi (vital breathing ability, life force, energy), opens the chest, reduces wheezing and asthma.

3:  Massage LU 10 on the midpoint between the base of the thumb and wrist, midpoint of the first metacarpal bone, on the junction of the red and white skin.  Using one finger tip press for 30 seconds to a minute; release, repeat 5 more times. Do it on both thumbs. LU10 clears heat in the lung, descent Lung Qi, stops coughing, calms the mind. .

4:  Massage GV14 and Dingchuan.  Dingchuan is located on both sides of GV 14 at the base of your neck at the same level as C7 vertebrae.  If you have someone to help you use both thumbs; press firmly on Dingchuan 30 seconds to a minute and press on GV 14, 30 seconds to a minute.  Release, repeat 5 more times. Or you can use a tennis ball at the spot, putting it against the wall or on the floor as I did in the video. Hold 1 minute to 5 minutes. Dingchuan soothes asthma attacks; promotes the descent of Lung Qi.  GV14 (dazhui) is a point for strengthening the body's yang to also help stop asthma.

You can use these points for children 3 years and above.  Just use very gentle pressure on CV22, pinching instead of pressing downward. ( Check video massage for children’s asthma.)

Always stay away from cold foods and drinks.

Drink warm water afterward. .

You can do this 3-5 times weekly to reduce asthma attacks as maintenance, or you can do this during the attack to reduce the discomfort.

Hope you feel better!
