Lung Defense
*Lung Defense is the most specific Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula designed for protection against external disease. This concoction traditionally compares our health to jade, the valuable and precious mineral, and how to protect it at all costs. This is because jade is so valuable and precious, just like our health. The word "screen" is used to show that the formula acts like window, shutting out pathogens from entering the body.
*Lung Defense prevents and treats colds, flus, asthma and seasonal allergies. The formula reinforces Stomach and Spleen function which in turn, enforces Lung strength.
Directions:
Begin with 5 drops twice daily. Increase to 1/2 dropper twice daily when you feel compromised.
For children, pregnant women, or those not wanting to consume alcohol, it can be poured into a hot liquid, either water or tea to evaporate the alcohol before consuming. Also you can put the drops onto a spoon and let it sit out for about 5 minutes before consuming.
Ingredients:
Astragalus: boosts vital Qi— the life force and vital energy that sustains us. It boosts the body's immune system and helps protect against pathogens like viruses and bacteria. It is also able to dissolve the stagnation of cold which can hurt the Lungs and create body aches. Astragalus is an overall anti-aging and anti-inflammatory herb that tonifies the Lung and the Spleen.
Bai Zhu (white atractylodes): completely harmonizes the Spleen and Stomach, dries dampness, helps digest emotions and food, stabilizes the exterior and stops sweating from spleen Qi deficiency of being unable to control the pores.
Fang Feng (ledebouriella): is known known by Native Americans settlers to be effective for the flu, it expels wind and relieves exterior syndromes, eliminates dampness and symptoms that can occur from these conditions like diarrhea. Its name Fang Feng is literally translated to "guard against wind", treating both the upper and lower body and the exterior and interior. It is more balanced than other herbs that are used for treating airborne pathogens and stimulates strong histaminic reactions. It’s known as the most moist of the wind herbs. It can be used for all wind patterns, wind is the main pathogen that brings cold, flu, and allergens to the body.
Hong Zao (red dates): an antioxidant, it tonifies Qi, warms the Spleen, nourishes Blood.
According to the book Chinese Herbal Medicine, Materia Medica, the combination of Fang Feng with Astragalus can actually shut out wind from entering the skin, which would include the nasal, eye and mouth cavities. If you can block out this wind, then you would block out allergy. It is really powerful in prevention!
Expiration date: 6 years
If you are taking other prescribed medications, be sure to separate the sequence by one hour. Take this one hour before or one hour after other medications.
